Throughout the school year we struggle to accomplish tasks and complete countless responsibilities. We are buried in “must” and “obligatory”! The time is too short for what to do, the contexts are the same, and the routine is really necessary, but so stressful. And we come to characterize ourselves only in terms of the things we do, not for what we really are. The worst thing is when this happens to children. How many of them are not confused with the notes in the catalog, without having the chance to capitalize on their true strengths? How many undiscovered talents lie under a pile of themes and projects?
There are also parents who really believe that all those things included in a school curriculum are really important in life and that nothing matters anymore – that everything else is just a distraction from the road to success. Most of us, however, would like to know who our child really is, we would like to know what his talent is, to what extent he would be good in that field and what would make him happy. But, unfortunately, this is often difficult to achieve. Contexts in everyday life or in the school environment offer few opportunities to discover talent.
Summer vacation is an excellent opportunity to discover yourself, to find out who you are passions, what you do best and what you would like to do. At Extra Summer Club we offer you to escape from the ordinary and become extraordinary.
We have three “destinations” in mind for this summer:
1. It’s a holiday! Relaxation is paramount. We need to recharge our batteries, let’s be energetic, have fun, play and create beautiful memories!
2. It is time to take advantage of the time we have to develop our skills so necessary in life, through extracurricular activities, as we do not have the opportunity to do during the year.
3. It’s time to find out who you really are! What energizes you? What makes you happy? Which is your talent In what field could you excel? What motivates you to work for success? Can you turn passion into performance?
Thus, in order to reach the destination, at Extra Summer Club we will organize the activities so as to combine the fun with the personal development and discovery.
Through play, socializing or in moments of boredom, the imagination, creativity, problem-solving ability, relating to others and much more develop. Through personal discovery, children best acquire the notions and skills necessary for adult life. Playing with a child tells everything about him, and such observations are paramount to discovering their desires and abilities.
At every step, we will create contexts for the acquisition of key competencies that give the ability to perform. What are these? A set of demonstrable and measurable characteristics, the sum of a person’s knowledge, skills and attitudes, which gives him the ability to perform his responsibilities effectively. Thus, we will ensure that each activity develops creativity and innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, cooperation, ability to negotiate and manage crisis situations, resilience, communication, self-esteem, empathy, respect for diversity, degree of involvement.
We complete the summer baggage, by choosing the weekly themes meant to discover talents, to inspire passion and to develop skills. Thus, we combine all three elements in our daily activities. Depending on the topic addressed each week, we will have activities that will arouse curiosity, complete the knowledge and give the child the chance to find out if he is passionate about the field. From trivial personality tests to the most advanced testing methods for each field, we will do everything we can to discover the special talents of each one, along with special guests – experts in those fields.
At the end of each week (every Friday) we will put into practice what we have learned through practical activities, exhibitions, small shows, plays, competitions or how it is characteristic of each field.
So allow us to be guides for children, in a fantastic journey, from which to return with the answers we are looking for and with holiday albums full of wonderful memories.
